“I look like food, not violence or hatred,” said Brazilian president for Donald Trump in a recording posted on his account on the Social Network X, in which he appears dressed in Bermuda to his knees, with his hands full of dust.
“I hope that one day you will be able to visit (the Presidential Palace) and that we will be able to discuss, so you can know the true Brazil,” added the left president.

At the beginning of August, Donald Trump imposed for many Brazilian products up to 50%, among the largest in the world. He justified this decision by stating that the justice of this country leads “a witch hunt” against its ideological ally, the former right -wing president Jair Bolsonaro, tried for a coup attempt against Lula in 2022.
These rates imposed on the second market in Brazil affect the key exports of the first economy in Latin America, such as coffee, fruits or meat.
In addition, the US imposed sanctions against the judge in charge of Bolsonaro's trial, Alexandre de Moraes, as well as against seven other magistrates of the Supreme Court.
Lula expressed his support for the Supreme Court and promised to “defend (…) the sovereignty of the Brazilian people.”
Jair Bolsonaro, who risks up to 40 years in prison, will find his verdict between September 2 and 12.
