The game of three small kittens of the snow leopard hit the camera in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (video)

The female snow leopard named Cleep had three more kittens. Personnel with playing babies, who were about two months old, managed to fix with the help of photoealists, they told the Sayano-Shushensky reserve.

In the video, kittens are actively playing under the watchful supervision of the mother. According to experts, this is the earliest photo registration of the offspring of Irbis in the history of the reserve – usually cubs fall into lenses no earlier than October.

Thanks to this replenishment, the total number of snow leopards living on the territory of the reserve reached 14 individuals. And the entire West Sayan group, which includes neighboring territories, now has 20 rare predators.

This is a great success for scientists who have been restoring the snow leopard population in the region for seven years. By 2017, their number was on the verge of disappearance, but thanks to the unique project to relocate (translocation) of the animals, the population was not only saved, but also to make the Sayano-Shushensky reserve the center of reproduction of the Irbis on the northern border of their world area.
