The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, says in an X message that he told President Donald Trump that sanctions against Russia should be tightened “if there is no trilateral meeting or if Russia is trying to avoid an honest conclusion.”
Following discussions with Trump and “coordination” with European leaders, Zelenski says that “positions are clear”: “A real peace, one that is sustainable, not just another break between Russian invasions must be made.”
