Zełenski returns to Washington. He is to visit on Monday

The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski announced that on Monday, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, he would visit Washington, where he would talk about initiatives to end the war with Russia.

Zełueski gave the news about a visit to the United States on Saturday, after a telephone conversation with Trump and teleconference with European leaders about the meeting of Trump with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, organized on Friday in Alaska.

“We support the proposal of President Trump regarding the Tripartted Ukraine-American-Russia meeting. Ukraine emphasizes: all key issues can be discussed at leaders level and the triangular format is appropriate in this case,” wrote Zelnski in the Telegram messenger (https://tinyurl.com/24bp8v).

“I intend to discuss all the details about stopping the murders and the end of the war with President Trump on Monday in Washington. I am grateful for the invitation,” added the Ukrainian president.

Zełeski described the conversation with Trump, and then with European leaders as “concrete”.

“Ukraine again confirms that it is ready for maximally productive activities for peace. President Trump informed me about his meeting with the Russian manager (Russian leader Vladimir Putin – PAP), about the main points of their conversation. It is important that America's strength affects the development of the situation,” he emphasized.

Zelanski pointed out that the participation of European countries is important in discussions on security guarantee for Ukraine. “We discussed the positive signals flowing from the American side regarding the participation (Washington) in guaranteeing the security of Ukraine,” said Zelanski.

The AFP agency quotes the spokeswoman for the White House Karoline Leavitt, who revealed that Trump had a “long conversation” with Zelanski during the return flight from Alaska, from meeting Putin. The US president also talked to NATO leaders – added Leavitt.

Trump met Putin on Friday at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Alaska. After the talks, both leaders made statements, but did not answer journalists' questions.

Trump and Putin described their Friday meeting in Alaska as “constructive”, but after the conversation they did not provide specific arrangements. Trump pointed out that he agreed with Putin in many cases, but several important issues remained unresolved.
