Violent fire near Bucharest: residents of evacuated clincy. Firefighters' mission, difficult by the lack of water

A high-proportional vegetation fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in the town of Clinceni, on the outskirts of the Capital, with a major risk of expanding to several homes. Authorities issued RO-Alert message for the population.

A strong vegetation fire broke out on Friday, August 15, in the town of Clinceni, Ilfov County, on Fortului Street, near Bucharest, and in a short time the flames quickly spread over an estimated surface at about three hectares, generating large amounts of smoke and threatening the homes.

Due to the wind and dry vegetation in the area, the fire extends rapidly, and firefighters draw attention to the danger that the fire will reach residential areas. For this reason, the evacuation of the inhabitants in the vicinity of the flames that extend to the residential area began, the fire manifesting on an extended area and having a high number of outbreaks. The mission of the firefighters is also difficult by the limited water supply possibilities for special vehicles.

In order to warn the inhabitants, a RO-Allert message was issued, by which the population is informed about risk and is urged to take protective measures.

Initially, 12 extinguishing vehicles and a SMURD ambulance were sent to the scene, but due to the fire intensity, the device was subsequently supplemented with 4 more special vehicles.

His situation worsened during the course, so that the intervention forces were supplemented again, reaching a total of 20 mobilized extinguishing vehicles to keep the flames under control. The crews work with priority to prevent the expansion of the fire to houses and storage spaces nearby.
