– We observe the intensive development of AI technology in the army. I think that this direction should be followed. At the same time, there are questions about whether the development of tanks will be equally dynamic in subsequent years. However, this is already speculation -said Business Insider Polska General Broni Dariusz Parlak, commander of the Multinational North-East Corps. This is a key element of NATO command, whose headquarters is located in Szczecin.
– Looking at history, the development of weapons – from the stick and the shield to the AI solutions – it seems unbelievable. Although if we look at this phenomenon closer, its dynamics were usually similar – new types of weapons were developed very quickly during large conflicts, after which there was usually a certain stagnation – adds the general.
That was – in his opinion – for example with drones. – The beginning of a full -glass war in Ukraine is a massive use of unmanned machines – in the sky, but also at the Black Sea Theater. It was a very important process, but it should be noted that the technological tools that slowed it were quickly developed, and you could defend yourself against drones more and more effectively – he adds.
From the stick to artificial intelligence
– Looking at history, wars often began when a new, groundbreaking center of fight was created. It is not necessarily about weapons, it was also, for example, a telegraph, who revolutionized wars very much, because to pass information, a horse rider was unnecessary – says General Dariusz Parlak.
– On the other hand, great wars also caused gigantic changes on the battlefield. While at the beginning of World War I the basic weapon was a repetitive rifle, the fate of this conflict changed the first such mass use of artillery. During the First World War, aviation began to gain. Then, however, we had time to stagnate when it comes to the development of weapons – he adds.
Later, World War II came, which brought the mass use of armored troops and aviation, and, of course, an atomic bomb, which then served-and serves-as an effective deterrent-emphasizes the commander of the multinational north-east body.
