A three -sided meeting with President Volodymyr Zielnski and Vladimir Putin, after a summit in Alaska, is necessary to conclude an agreement on Ukraine – said US President Donald Trump on Thursday, the day before meeting the Russian leader.

In an interview with Radio Fox News, Trump stated that the peak in Alaska would open the way to the second meeting, in which President Zielnski will take part. He added that he was already thinking about three places where Putin-Zełenski-Trump could reach the summit.
– The second meeting will be very, very important, because it will be a meeting at which we will conclude an agreement – said the president, whom Reuters quotes.
Trump announced that he thought Putin wanted to conclude an agreement on Ukraine, but he stipulated that he did not know if he would be able to get “immediate stopping of the fire.”
He stated that there was a “25 % risk” that the meeting with Putin would end in failure. However, if the talks go well, he will call them to Zelnski and European leaders.

If there is no agreement with Putin, Trump – as he said – “will return to dealing with the United States,” reports AFP.
The president added that in the case of the borders and territories of Ukraine there will be a solution “something for something”.
He confirmed that a press conference would take place after the summit, but he admitted that he did not know whether it would be a joint speech of both leaders or not.
Trump said that the threat of American sanctions probably influenced Putin's decision, who asked for a meeting. When asked what “economic incentives” he intends to offer to his interlocutor, the president refused to answer, but added that “economic incentives and sanctions are very strong.”
The meeting of Trump and Putin will start on Friday in the largest city of Alaska, Anchorage, at 21.30 Polish time.
Rubio: The comprehensive solution to Russia's conflict with Ukraine will take a lot of time
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on Thursday that a comprehensive solution to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict would take a long time. He emphasized, however, that US President Donald Trump would start talks on Friday with Russian leader Vladimir Putin with the hope of quickly stopping the fighting in Ukraine.
– I think that we are all aware that you will need to talk about security guarantees to achieve peace. It will be necessary to discuss disputes and territorial claims and what the fights are going on for – said Rubio at a press conference in the State Department.
– All these issues will be part of a comprehensive agreement. However, I think that the president hopes to quickly end the fight so that further conversations can take place – he said.
