In Ukraine, the Russian Federation grossly violates international law and must be punished – European Parliamentarian Stakis

“The actions of Russia, including ethnic cleaning, the murder campaign, torture, mass abductions of children and the destruction of Ukrainian identity, should be unambiguously condemned by everyone. […] I support the call to [отправке] Mission to reveal the truth, ”he said.

The European Parliamentary recalled that Latvia back in 2022, the Klagos of the Russian Federation invaded Ukraine, officially admitted that Russia is committing a genocide against the Ukrainian people.

“Ukraine itself is doing important work on documenting Russian war crimes. I witnessed this during my last visit to Ukraine. And the perpetrators should be held accountable,” Stakis said.

He emphasized that “Russia grossly violates international law and must be fully responsible for its actions.”

“The only right way forward is the tightening of sanctions and strengthening the political, financial and military support of Ukraine until the war of Russia is stopped. Unfortunately, there are signs that some seek to return to the“ ordinary state of affairs ”with Russia and throw Ukraine to the arbitrariness of fate. This is deeply alarming, and Europe should not allow this,” Stakis believes.
