In Volgograd there is the Łukoil refinery, which is One of the largest oil manufacturers in the southern federal district. The plant's production capacity is 14.8 million t. From the beginning of the year, the company has been attacked twice by Ukrainian drones: 3 and 15 February.
Also on the night of August 13, the inhabitants of Volgograd informed about the attack on the district, where the plant is located. However, drones did not achieve their goal.
Ukraine in August intensified the attacks on Russian plants crude oil processing. On August 2, the factories in Ryazan and Nowokujbyszewsk were hit, on August 7 – in Affipski, on August 10 – in the Republic of Komi and Saratów, and on August 13 – in Slavinsk nad Kubania.
As a result, from the beginning of August, the three largest Rosnefti refineries – in Saratów, Riazania and Nowokujbyszewsk – completely or partially suspended oil processing. In this situation, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Nowak, responsible for energy, convened to August 14 Extraordinary meeting with representatives of oil concerns – the Sources Agency informed.
