Justin Stefan, the Secretary General of the Professional Football League, offered his perspective on the scandal in the last days of Liga 1, caused by modifying the rule on the introduction of players on the list for Superliga.
- Dan Șucu, the majority shareholder from Rapid, asked for the resignation of Gino Iorgulescu after LPF modified, as a matter of urgency, a regulation provision that did not allow Gigi Becali to re-enter Malcom Edjoa on the list for the championship.
- On the old ROAF configuration, the regulation for the organization of football activity, this would not have been possible without the FCSB owner to terminate Edjoa's contract and register a new one.
- Gigi Becali convinced LPF and FRF to modify the law in emergency, and Craiova University and Rapid challenged the decision, Dan Șucu even demanding the chief of the professional league. Iorgulescu responded and threatened the owner of Rapid.
- Things calmed down the next day, at the General Assembly on August 12. Rapid gave back, after initially asked for the resignation of Iorgulescu.
- From the information of GSP, Justin Stefan made my guilt at the General Assembly meeting, on the grounds that he did not consult the clubs regarding the modification of the rule.
In addition, Justin Stefan said that some things will change from LPF from now on, in the sense that there will be a lot of good communication with the teams in Superliga.
