Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan told Digi24 on Wednesday, asked if there is a coalition deadlock, that the ruling parties have “a great responsibility” and that, if the package of economic measures cannot be adopted, “there is no profit to be the prime minister of Romania in such a situation.” “Just stay on a post and you can do nothing, you better go from there and those who have very good ideas have only to come and put them into practice,” Bolojan said.
Bolojan admitted that, in the last days, the coalition sessions “have not been carried out under normal conditions”.
“As I told you, I trust the responsibility of the decision-making politicians who have made this coalition to remove Romania from the situation. PNL and PSD, who are part of this coalition, we have a great responsibility for this topic. I have always recognized that PNL, as a party, has an important responsibility and we are to correct these things.”
Bolojan hopes that “in the coming days, things will be unlocked” and “important steps” will be taken for the adoption of the package. “If we do not adopt it, believe me that there is no joy, no win, to be the prime minister of Romania in such a situation,” he said.
“I have accepted this responsibility knowing that I risk compromising my image. But if Romania goes through this situation, it means that I did what is necessary for our country when the time has come. Just stay on a job and you can do nothing, you better go from there and those who have very good ideas have only to come into practice,” Bolojan pointed out.
The prime minister also insisted on the need to communicate the economic measures so that people understand their reason: “We must gather as soon as possible, take these measures necessary for the economic stability of Romania, to transfer to people we know what we do, to explain the measures that are adopted and to do, to do what, We create conditions for Romania to be able to relaunch next year, ”said the prime minister.
On Tuesday, the interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that the Social Democrats have several conditions to return to the coalition sessions, including an adoption of an elimination package, which must be solved before the discussions on the second package of measures to reduce the deficit.
The dissatisfaction in the PSD also comes against the basis of the way in which the USR has been related to the official ceremonies organized for Ion Iliescu.
