President Volodimir Zelenski said on Monday that Russia is preparing its troops for new offensives instead of preparing to put an end to the Ukraine war, after speaking to the leaders of India and Saudi Arabia, in the efforts to mobilize support for Kiev outside Europe, reports Reuters.

Zelenski obtained the diplomatic support of Europe and NATO alliance on Sunday, against the background of US and Russia leaders could try to dictate the conditions for the end of the war that lasts three and a half years at the summit scheduled in Alaska on Friday.

“Today, the intelligence services and the military command have presented a report on Putin's plans and what it is preparing in reality. In particular, military preparations. It certainly does not prepare for an armistice and the end of the war,” Zelenski, in his evening speech, addressed to the nation.

He added, without giving details, that Russia moves its troops for new operations on the Ukrainian territory.

“There is no sign that the Russians have received signals to prepare for a post -war situation,” said the leader from Kiev.

Vladislav Voloșin, the spokesman of the Ukrainian forces in the southern sector of the front, told Reuters that the Moscow army moves some of his units in the Zaporojie region to make new attacks.

In separate statements made Monday, Zelenski said he spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, both adopting prudent diplomatic positions in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

India is an important Russian oil buyer, and Saudi Arabia has proposed as a conflict mediator. Zelenski said he spoke with both leaders about strengthening the position of Kiev in any peace process.

“Communication with leaders is practically permanent – we are in constant contact,” he wrote on X. “Now is the moment when there is a real chance to get peace,” Zelenski added

And in his “long conversation” with Modi, Zelenski said they also discussed the sanctions against Russian oil. Last week, Trump imposed an additional 25% tax on Indian products, invoking the continuous imports of this product by New Delhi.

“I stressed that it is necessary to limit the export of Russian energy, especially oil, to reduce its potential and ability to fund this war,” Zelenski said, insisting that leaders who have “tangible influence on Russia” should act.

Zelenski also urged his country to maintain sanctions against Russia until Ukraine receives security guarantees.

Putin has also had a series of telephone calls in recent days, discussing with the leaders of China, India, Brazil and former Soviet states to inform you about his contacts with the United States about the Ukraine war.

On Wednesday, Germany will convene an online meeting of European leaders to discuss how to exert pressure on Russia, for Moscow to put an end to the Ukraine war, before a telephone conversation of Europe with Trump. Zelenski and EU and NATO officials are expected to attend this online meeting.

Earlier during Monday, Zelenski warned that any concession made to Russia will not convince her to cease fighting in Ukraine and that it is necessary to intensify the pressure on the Kremlin.

“Russia refuses to stop the killings and, therefore, should not receive any rewards or benefits,” he wrote, in a message published on the social network X.

“The concessions do not convince a killer,” Zelenski added.
