The scandal around KPO. SME spokesman speaks clearly
Majewska pointed out that basing ratings only on media reports is insufficient. “Applications for violation of law can be formulated only on the basis of provisions and impartial results, documented findings” – wrote the spokesman of the SME, emphasizing at the same time the need to protect honest entrepreneurs against unfounded accusations and to ensure them the right to defense.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Funds, Jan Szyszko, announced that the signals about possible irregularities reached the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy “A few weeks ago”, and at the end of July the then president of PARP was dismissed from the function.
The former head of PARP, in turn, explained that the agency plays an executive role – it is the ministry that determines the criteria and approves the procedures, and PARP works based on these guidelines. She also added that the ministry was informed about the admissibility of the purchase of Łódź as a form of diversification of activity.
The ministry announced that the initial results of PARP control may probably be known at the end of September, and certainly in the third quarter of the year. The ministry also noted that Poland will present a settlement based on verified projects in December in December.

The data provided by PARP shows that the Horeca support program signed 3 005 contracts for a total amount of about PLN 1.2 billion, of which about PLN 110 million has been paid so far. The aim of the program is to help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from the hotel, gastronomy, tourism and culture-sectors strongly affected by the effects of Covid-19 pandemic.
The rules of recruitment for the Horeca program were established in 2023; Applications were submitted within the deadlines of May -June and July -October 2024. In the second round, facilitations were introduced, including reduced to 20 percent. The requirement of a minimum decrease in turnover year on year (2020-2021) and the possibility of granting funds to companies introducing a new service or extending the offer was allowed.
Majewska emphasized that transparent and reliable control proceedings are key – both to protect the reputation of entrepreneurs and to maintain confidence in the process of spending funds on which the rate of funding and the competitiveness of the economy depends.
