If Tesla's application is approved by the OFGEM energy supervision authority, then – as BBC informs – Tesla will be able to take control of large companies next year, which dominate the British energy market in the scope of supplying electricity to households and companies in England, Scotland and Wales.
Tesla, which is best known as one of the world's largest manufacturers of electric vehicles, also operates in solar energy and battery storage.

As BBC explains, OFGEM may need up to nine months to consider applications for licenses for energy supply. The conclusion, signed by Andrew Payne, who manages Tesla's European energy operations, was submitted at the end of last month.
