Sorana started the game with Yue Yuan, making three service games to zero. In a suffocating heat, the Romanian kept the clarity of the mind and managed to respond perfectly to the conditions.

Yue Yuan had some problems, but every time he managed to get out of difficult times, one of them occurred at 5-4, when the Romanian had a ball to close the set. Everything changed there, after the Romanian missed it. Body language, aggression of blows, concentration. The Chinese did 5-5, then 6-5. The whole set was a hard struggle in which Yuan and Cîrstea fought to find more aggression towards the opponent.

Sorana pushed the set in tie-break after a range in which she found her sensations in the first games, but further sank in errors. Yue Yuan eventually imposed 7-6 (2) in 55 minutes

In the break between sets, Ye Yuan used an ice towel because the temperature was already high, 35 degrees with a 19 percent humidity. However, she managed to take advantage of the confidence gathered in the first set and make a break again, leading by 2-0. But he failed to confirm then, the Romanian returning immediately with re-break, then with a service range in which he came out of difficult situations, managing to equal 2.

Mistakes began to again arise in the Romanian game, seeing themselves led again with 4-2. The scenario repeated, Cîrstea managed to link two games won and equate to 4. With perseverance, Sorana resisted, forcing the opponent to make a new break. He served flawlessly and managed to win with 6-4 in 56 minutes.

While his opponent went to the locker rooms in the ten -minute break imposed by the excessive heat, Sorana enjoyed the music of the speakers, humming a few lyrics in the song “Never Gonna Give You” of Rick Astley, voted with Adrian Crruciat, hydrated and ate a few pieces of banana, then made a few movements.

Cramps for Yue Yuan in decisive

Sorana did not start the decisive with Yuan, being led by 2-0, but the events in the previous sets made her believe that she can return and so, the Romanian equal to 2.

The effects of heat began to show up, Yuan showing that he could have some physical problems. The Romanian noticed the difficult moment and hit even more aggressively, managing to put in his third consecutive groan. The physiotherapist was called, the Chinese was checked at the blood pressure, he was recommended drinks with electrolytes and salts, although as a cramp commentator does not grant a medical time.
