The head of the diplomacy of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, said on Sunday that any agreement between Washington and Moscow for the conclusion of the War in Ukraine must include Ukraine, and the EU. She announced that she will summon a meeting of European Foreign Ministers on Monday to discuss the next steps, according to Reuters.

“The United States has the power to force Russia to negotiate seriously. Any agreement between the US and Russia must include Ukraine and the EU, because it is a matter of the security of Ukraine and the whole of Europe,” Kaja Kallas said in an e-mail comment.

US President Donald Trump intends to meet in Alaska on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kallas also said that “as we work for a sustainable and fair peace, international law is clear: all temporarily occupied territories belong to Ukraine.”

“An agreement should not become a launching ramp for a new Russian aggression against Ukraine, transatlantic alliance and Europe,” she added.

On Friday, before confirming the summit, Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that “we are very close to an agreement” that would end the conflict. The US president added that “an exchange of territories will take place for the benefit of both parties”.

Zelenski gave a categorical answer

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski reacted firmly to Donald Trump's announcement on the conditions and warned that Allowing Russia to keep the territories occupied in Ukraine will lead to a new invasion.

He stated that allowing the annexation of the Crimea Peninsula by Putin in 2014 did not prevent Russian forces from occupying several parts of Ukraine during the current conflict.

“Now, Putin wants to be forgiven because he has occupied the south of our region Herson, Zaporojie, the entire territory of the regions of Lugansk and Donețk, as well as Crimea. We will not allow this second attempt to divide Ukraine. Knowing Russia, we know that if there is a second attempt, there will be a third one,” said the leader from Kiev.
