Romania will be hit by a new wave of heat. Meteorologists have issued warnings yellow code and orange code of heat that will target almost the whole country this weekend.
A yellow code warning will enter into force on Saturday, August 9, starting at 12 o'clock, in Banat, Crișana, Oltenia, Muntenia and South-West Dobrogei.
The maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 37 degrees, with the highest values in the south of Oltenia and Banat, where 38 degrees will be insulated. The temperature-humidity index (ITU) will reach or easily exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. At night it will be local tropical with a minimum in general of 18 … 22 degrees.

On Sunday, August 10, starting at 10 o'clock, an orange code of heat, which will target the counties of Bihor, Arad, Timiș, Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți and Dolj. In these areas, the heat will intensify, the thermal discomfort will be accentuated, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.
The maximum temperatures will be 38 … 39 degrees, and the minimum ones will be between 19 and 23 degrees, characterizing a tropical night.
On Sunday, August 10, also from 10 o'clock, a yellow code of heat will be used in Maramureș, western Transylvania, northern and east of Oltenia, in Muntenia, southern Moldova and the continental part of Dobrogea.
Here will be highly high temperatures, high heat and heat discomfort will be, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will reach or exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The maximum temperatures will be between 33 and 37 degrees, and the minimum ones will be between 17 and 21 degrees, characterizing a tropical night.
