In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, experts use 70 unmanned aerial vehicles to control what is happening in the forests. Since the beginning of the year, drones have helped to detect 8 cases of illegal wood harvesting.
In the Boguchansky municipal district, during ground patrols, the forest guard inspectors used a drone, which at a distance of 30 km from the launch site fixed the deforestation. Experts clarified the coordinates of the forest plot and quickly went to the place where the local resident cut down coniferous trees without permits.
In the Mans-Uyar district, the UAV helped to fix the illegal cutting of 13 coniferous and deciduous trees. Materials in these cases have been transferred to court, violators are facing imprisonment up to 7 years. They will also have to reimburse the amount of damage caused to the State Medical Flood.
“Directors serve as a good help in the work of specialists, annually we expand the UAV fleet and gradually equip all our subordinate institutions in the territories of the region with drones. In addition to drones, illegal cases of cutting trees are also revealed by specialists during ground patrol and fixes cosmonitoring. Thanks to the integrated approach, the volumes of illegal wood harvesting are significantly reduced: over 7 months of this year, we fix the reduction by 39 % compared to the same period last year, ”said Alexey Bolshakov, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and the Forest Complex of the Territory.
The employees of the region’s regional forest -fire center help to monitor the situation and identify fires, as well as quickly assess the situation in extinguishing fires. The use of drones allows you to reduce the costs of ground patrol. If earlier, to assess the scale of a large fire, it was necessary to go around the entire area on high -passing equipment, now the UAV shows a real picture of the development of the situation in the forests of the region in a matter of minutes.
The drones are also monitored by the violators who take out household waste to the forest. The quality of the camera installed on the devices helps to fix the license plate of cars and transmit photographs in good resolution with people who perform illegal actions in the forest. All data is transferred to the police.
We add that in 2025, within the framework of the national project “Unmanned Aviation Systems”, another 22 UAVs will be additionally entered into the region. Residents of the region can report all violations of forest legislation by phone 8 (800) 100-94-00.
