The detained man was wanted in Poland to serve a punishment for car theft as part of an organized criminal group and in connection with a separate drug case, which concerns the events of Krakow in 2004 – the website says.
The police detained the sought after on Thursday late on the basis of the Polish extradition order. The man will now stand before the extradition court in Laganside.
– We are still working with our international partners to identify and arrest people sought after in other matters – said a police representative, quoted by “Belfast Telegraph”. – If the fugitives come to Northern Ireland to avoid the consequences of their crimes, it is only a matter of time before they are arrested and brought to an extradition court – he added.
