The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, announced on Friday that three institutions are carrying out a large inspection at Metrorex, to see, among others, and if the norms regarding the safety and operation of the subway trains are respected.
This is a control made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) and the Romanian Railway Safety Authority (ASFR), together with the Bucharest Territorial Labor Inspectorate, according to the minister of relevant, Ciprian Șerban.
“In the action, representatives of the Control Corps at the MTI level, 24 state inspectors from ASFR and 6 inspectors at ITM Bucharest are involved. The mixed teams verify, directly on the field, the way the legal norms and requirements are respected:
- Safety and exploitation of subway trains;
- Maintenance and repair of railway vehicles;
- Compliance with the rules of work and the professional training of the personnel;
- Managing incidents and fulfilling the obligations stipulated by the legislation in force ”, wrote Serban on his Facebook page.
He stated that after the checks and analysis of the documents will be concluded, the conclusions of the control will be made public.
“The transport by subway must be not only quick and efficient, but also for sure. This common action with ITM Bucharest shows that we have zero tolerance to the deviations that can endanger the safety of travelers and staff,” said Serban.
