Five American soldiers were shot at Fort Stewart base on Wednesday, and the suspect was detained, officials from the US Army announced, according to Reuters.
The soldiers were received on the spot and then they were transported to the Winn Army Community Hospital for additional treatment, Bazeu Fort Stewart representatives said in a Facebook post.
“There is no active threat (at this time, no) to the community,” writes in the post.

“We keep in our hearts and prayers the victims, their families and all those who respond to the call to serve (in the US Army, no), and we ask all the inhabitants of Georgia to do the same,” he added.
President Donald Trump has been informed about shootings and monitors the situation, said Karoline Leavitt, the spokesman of the White House, in a statement published on X.
