XTB has announced that it will compensate for clients the losses related to cyber attacks on their accounts. “We decided to compensate for all our clients (…) we deprive this as a valuable lesson for both us, individual investors and the entire community,” said the president of XTB Omar Arnaout. The amount of compensation will not affect the results, the company informed.

In addition to the implementation of security based on new technologies, cooperation with safety experts and the implementation of an educational campaign,
XTB has decided to compensate for investors all the funds lost as a result of cyber criminals.

According to XTB data Cyber criminals affected only 0.017 percent. clients. None of the cybercriminals affected by the activities had an active two -component authentication function (2FA), which is effective protection against unauthorized access to the account, the broker gives.

“Our strategy is to offer the best investment application to manage investments both passively and actively. In the coming weeks XTB will contact customers directly, who submitted complaints related to the loss of funds as a result of cybercriminalsfor customers to regain lost funds in full as soon as possible. The company estimates that the overall amount of compensation will not have a material impact on financial results, XTB has announced.
