As the Los Angeles Times reports, on Sunday around 23.00 local time officers interrupted “a large party in the magazine hall”, after they noticed a person who probably had a firearm with him. She was stopped.
Two hours later, the police were called again there in connection with the reports of the shooting. The officers found eight people with gunshot wounds. One man died on the spot, and seven other people were taken to the hospital, where one died.

Social networking sites promoted the event as the unofficial after-part of the Hard Summer festival, which took place at the weekend in Hollywood Park. One of the participants who, for fear of retaliation, did not want to reveal his name, said that it looked as if “100 shots” had fallen, which caused panic.
According to a bodyguard working nearby, the area has long been popular as the place of organization of after-party events, mainly due to the dismissal from residential districts. Many participants of such events stay there until the early morning hours. The Hard Summer festival, a weekend music event, which includes both recognized and novice artists, took place for the first time in Los Angeles in 2007.
