“As for the date of the visit of the newly elected President Karol Nawrocki, our invitation is open. We are very interested in establishing a dialogue between the leaders of both countries as soon as possible. We are open to a discussion on important issues that are in our program. Therefore, we are looking forward to the visit of the President of Friendly Poland on friendly Ukraine and we do not have to wait for any symbolic dates to receive this invitation” – Sybiha said in an interview with the Ukrinform portal.

Conversations in Chobielin focused largely on defense cooperation. The Ukrainian side, represented by Minister Sybiha, thanked Poland for already provided with 46 military support packages and discussed the planned subsequent steps in this field. The Ukrainian minister emphasized that security issues often have a sensitive character, which is why detailed information remains a mystery. “The enemy will learn about these solutions on the battlefield, after the effectiveness of our soldiers” Sybiha noticed.

Among the topics discussed, he mentioned, among others PIORUN SYSTEMS (MANPADS), whose effectiveness on the front has already been verified, and Polish howitzers Krab. The Ukrainian army expresses interest in both their purchase and the possibility of co -production of armament in cooperation with Polish defense industry companies. Sybiha also talked about a potential defense loan from Poland in the amount of EUR 120 million, which could be allocated to the purchase of Polish military equipment.

“Poland has good traditions of the production of defense products, and Ukraine is invariably interested in this,” Sibiha noted, adding that strengthening defense cooperation is in mutual interest and is part of the plan for a common, safer Europe.
