“The buildings were built during the growing popularity of New Prague attached to Warsaw in the 1990s and were distinguished by their form and material from among the wooden part of this part of the city – he explained.

On the other hand, the historical value results from the relationship with the Blumtrytt family, owners of the stocking and hinged products factory in Warsaw, which, despite financial difficulties, operated until 1932.

“In addition, the building at ul. Bródnowska 14 is distinguished by a high artistic value. Located outside the main communication routes, the building retained the remains of the original artistic decor, removed in the 1960s. Due to the poor condition of behavior and non -compliance with the aesthetics in force at the time,” the conservator explained.

Tenement house at ul. Bródnowska 14 was erected at the beginning of the 20th century. According to the design of an unknown author. In 1903, the property on which the tenement house was built became the property of the marriage of Konstanty and Urszula née Łapiński Blumtrytt.

Most likely, shortly after buying a plot, a stone tenement house was erected. The building with two outbuildings located in the depths of the property received a rich decoration, the building was complemented by a one -story guard building located directly at ul. Bródnowska.

Konstanty Blumtrytt (1868-1932) was the owner of the stocking-girded products in Warsaw operating since 1890 and had shares in the company “Society Fiber”.

In 1908, Ivan Kuchar purchased a tenement house at public auction, in 1919 the Blumtrites bought the property. In the interwar period, the Blumtrytta plant was located at ul. Bródnowska 14.

In 1927, a public auction of stock machines took place, in 1931 part of the production was moved to Gawłów, in 1932 the judgment of the District Court in Warsaw announced the bankruptcy of the factory.

From 1932, the property at ul. Bródnowska was in the hands of the successors of Konstanty Blumtrytt. In 1939, its owners were married to Zofia née Kowerska and a member of the board of the Bank of Cooperative Societies Antoni Government, who planned to erect a 4-storey front building at the watchtower, which was then a store with a brick garage. The sale of real estate was finalized only in 1941, the planned construction was not implemented.

The building survived World War II without major damage. After 1945, the property became the property of the Treasury. Before 1976, balcony slabs were removed on the first floor of the tenement house, maintaining fragments of the original balustrade, before 2008 the garage was dismantled by the guardian with a stone fence from the west. In the 1990s, a brick one -story outbuilding with storage rooms was erected in Zieleniec. (PAP)
