Several hundred people gathered on Friday night in Victoria Square in the Capital to protest the austerity measures adopted by the Government.

The protest, organized by Călin Georgescu's supporters, under the slogan “Romania worth not silence!”, He was authorized to take place between 5:00 pm and 22:30.

According to the Mediafax agency, about 300 people gathered in front of the government to protest the fiscal-budgetary measures that have entered into force from August 1.

According to the same source, during the demonstration the participants chanted “Down the Government!” and “Călin Georgescu president!”.

During the control carried out by the gendarmes at the assembly in Victoriei Square, a man had a knife.

“Within one of the prefilment devices adopted by the gendarmes in the context of the public assembly in Victoriei Square, a man who had a knife was detected. The necessary documents were drawn up to notify the criminal prosecution bodies, in accordance with the provisions of art. 372 of the Criminal Code,” informs the Gendarmerie, quoted by Agerpres.

The gendarmes remind that, in accordance with the legal provisions in force, it is forbidden and the participation in the public meetings of the persons of any kind, explosive or incendiary materials, irritant-lacrimogenic or paralyzing, devices for electric shocks or other objects that can be used for violent actions or disorder, are prohibited.
