Thanks to the prosecutor's office, a serious crime committed 25 years ago in the city of Sharypovo was disclosed. A local resident who was abused over a 9-year-old girl will appear before the court.
According to the supervisory authority, in 2000 at that time a 24-year-old man dragged the girl into the basement of her at home and abused her. Then law enforcement officers opened a criminal case and established the identity of the suspect, but he disappeared from the investigation outside of Russia.
A year later, having learned that they were looking for him, the man himself appeared in the police, declaring his innocence. The investigation was suspended. The reason is “a failure to be attracted as an accused.”
“For a long time, the crime remained unsolved. As part of the work on the disclosure of crimes of past years, the prosecutor raised and studied the materials of the criminal case and came to the conclusion about the illegality of the termination of criminal prosecution against the suspect, ”the press service of the department said.
The prosecutor from the sanction of the court canceled the decision on the termination of criminal prosecution and demanded that operational-search and investigative measures resume. As a result, new suspecting evidence was obtained.
The man was found on the territory of another subject of the Russian Federation, under the pressure of collected evidence, he confirmed his involvement in the crime.
The prosecutor's office approved the accusation of violent acts of a sexual nature (paragraph “c” of part 3 of article 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The criminal case will be considered by the Sharypovsky city court.
