A “legendary” sock worn by the pop star Michael Jackson, during a concert in 1997, was sold for 6,200 euros in a tender, Wednesday, notes Agerpres, citing AFP.

The sock worn by Michael Jackson on July 27, 1997 at a concert in Nice was sold on Wednesday by the Interencheres auction site for 6,200 euros, after it was initially put on sale with the price of 2,500 euros, but did not find a buyer. The sock on which the bright square crystals are embroidered was found at the end of the concert, near the artist's cabin, as said Aurore Illy, commissioner of a tender house in the city of Nimes, according to the quoted source.

This is how the sock sold in 2025 shows, but more damaged and discolored:

Aurore Illy calls the sock an “exceptional object, even an object that has become a cult for Michael Jackson's fans, and we received numerous requests from those interested.”

According to the same source, the pop star wore this article during the pieces “Beat It” and “Billie Jean”, famous for the execution of the “Moonwalk” dance.
