According to Astra, a few hundred meters from it is another largest defense factory – JSC Radio Zavod. This is the only manufacturer of the control points of the combat operations of the air defense units of the ground forces. Since 2013, the company has been part of the Roselectronics Holding JSC (Rostekhnology Group of Companies).
The governor of the Penza region Oleg Melnichenko confirmed the attack on one of the industrial enterprises, without indicating the name. According to him, there are no victims and destruction, there is a fire on the territory of the enterprise. He added that “for security purposes” in the region there are temporary restrictions on mobile Internet.
Andrei Kovalenko, head of the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine, also wrote that the radio plant was attacked in Penza. He specializes in the production of modern communications for the Armed Forces of Russia. Among them:
- Mobile control systems;
- automated combat control systems;
- radio stations for the ground forces, airborne troops and strategic missile forces;
- Modernized command and staff vehicles (KSHM) based on armored vehicles.
“An important enterprise of the military -industrial complex of the Russian Federation,” Kovalenko said.
