In a video you can see how a hooligan hits a child with a stick in his head, after which the boy falls unconsciously. For fear of the consequences, some supporters began to jump from the stands, many of them suffering serious injuries.

According to information in the local press, dozens of people were seriously injured while one even lost their lives, according to Brand. Over 300 people were arrested.

It seems that the situation in the stands escalated after his independent supporters had previously stole a flag of rivals, a gesture that angered the Chile.

The match was interrupted several times, and the referee, after a crisis meeting, decided to permanently suspend it, at the score of 1-1.

The organizer of the competition, Conmebol, reacted in relation to this case. In an official statement, it is mentioned that the match was suspended and will not be resumed. According to the international press, both clubs are expected to be sanctioned, with the possibility of a suspension.
