Over PLN 4.6 billion will go to the provinces for the implementation of tasks in the field of civil protection and civil defense – the Ministry of the Interior and Administration informed in response to the questions of the PAP local government service. Most of these funds will receive local government units.



The Ministry of Interior and Administration announced the division into the voivodships of parts 0.15 percent. GDP for the implementation of tasks in the field of civil protection and civil defense. In total, as reported by the ministry, about PLN 4.628 billion was allocated.
“The division of funds into poviats (and municipalities) will be implemented by the competent voivods,” said the press office of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the most money will go to the province. Silesia – nearly PLN 529 million, Mazowieckie – almost PLN 452 million and Greater Poland – over PLN 410 million; Warsaw received the allocation of PLN 214.5 million.
On Tuesday, the Mazowieckie Voivodship Office reported that after deducting the funds that remain the responsibility of the Mazowieckie Voivode, PLN 187.8 million will go to the capital. This money can be financed, among others Protective buildings, temporary shelter, central records of such facilities and training. Pursuant to the Population and Civil Protection Program, a local government unit will receive funding in the form of a subsidy on the basis of a contract concluded with the competent voivode. The subsidy can finance up to 100 percent. costs of implementation.
Local governments are to use this money for the reconstruction of the population protection system, including for the construction and modernization of shelters and other facilities in which the population will be able to shelter in crisis situations. It will also be co -financed for retrofitting warehouses with equipment and supplies necessary, for example, when removing the effects of natural disasters.
The Act on the protection of the population and civil defense entered into force on January 1 this year. The regulation allows the creation of a population protection system, which in the event of a war will be able to transform into civil defense. The government will allocate no less than 0.3 percent for the implementation of new solutions. GDP. This year it is PLN 16.7 billion.
