President of the Supreme Medical Council: The Prime Minister has set a short circuit with doctors

The prime minister has set a confrontational direction at a short circuit with doctors – said the president of the Supreme Medical Council Łukasz Jankowski on Tuesday. “Lack of ideas and a lack of political support will make doctors and nurses a target of attacks,” he said, commenting on changes in the health department.

From Friday, the Ministry of Health has been managed by Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda, a lawyer and manager from the Tri-City, who replaced Izabela Leszczyna in this position. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, informing last week about this change during a press conference, said: – The only goal of the health department would be to improve the situation of patients. I will also say very brutally: not improving the situation of doctors, but improving the situation of patients.
Roszady in the health department was commented on on Tuesday by the president of the Supreme Medical Council Łukasz Jankowski, critically assessing the declaration of the Prime Minister compiling the interests of patients and doctors.
– Our environment negatively received the antagonizing declaration of the Prime Minister. We appealed to all politicians to stop it. We are on the same side as patients – said the head of NRL.
– Today in my speech there must be a great fear that the direction set by the Prime Minister is a confrontational direction, going to short with doctors – he added.
He emphasized that in other European countries there are no attacks on doctors, the rulers focus on cooperation. “By hitting the safety of the doctor, he hits patient safety,” he said.
The head of the Medical Council also referred to The second announcement of Donald Tusk regarding the Ministry of Health – under the new management, it is to be an expert, reproductive office, focused exclusively on healthcare management.
– This may mean that the ministry will be left alone. Lack of ideas and a lack of political support will make doctors and nurses the target of media attacks, also inspired by the rulers. All this in order to keep the status quo as long as possible, and blame us – said Łukasz Jankowski. He noted that the health department should be a supreme, but with the support of political facilities for his ideas.
The Supreme Medical Chamber also summed up the actions of the health department from the last less than two years. – The promises remained only in the sphere of mummy improvement, which did not come true – said the president of NRL. – Personal changes follow, but not real changes – he added.
Doctors reminded the government not fulfilling the promises of the so -called 100 specifics for the first 100 days of rule. They indicated: no e-preservation system of medical visits (the bill in this case was adopted last week); Lifting limits in hospital medicine and increasing the availability of geriatricians and long -term care by unlocking KPO funds.
Medics are also disappointed with the effects of working on increasing the safety of medical staff, which is currently a priority for the entire medical community and other healthcare professionals.
“Despite the tragic events of which representatives of medical environments fell victims, and despite the declarations from the Ministry of Health about the need to implement a package of legal changes strengthening medical staff, no needed changes were implemented, such as prosecution of all signs of aggression against medical staff, taking over the doctors practicing the same protection as public officials regardless of the place and legal officers regardless of the place and legal officers regardless in which they practice, a reservation by medics in public registers, penalization of disturbing public order in medical facilities, establishing a register of aggression in health care, the nationwide procedure for reporting acts of violence or the implementation of standardized control of access to institutions ” – sounds the fragment of the Presidium of NRL adopted on July 25.
The local government also critically assessed the lack of consistent policy in the field of medical education; The tardiness in the implementation of changes in the law aimed at repealing the provisions that provide for the possibility of acquiring the right to practice the profession of a doctor and dentist in Poland in simplified modes; The postulate of medics that has not been realized for years limiting the use of criminal sanctions against medical workers – including doctors – for unintentional deeds against life and health committed in connection with the provision of health services.
NRL also drew attention to the problem of financing healthcare services that have been not resolved for years. “There is no effective actions to improve the valuation of benefits, solve the problem of settlement of surplus, the abolition of contract unevenness (especially between universities and healthcare providers in dentistry), ensuring adequate financing for dental and preventive services,” said the doctors.
Łukasz Jankowski, asked by PAP how the relationship between the medical self -government with the new MZ management would look like this critical assessment, he replied: – I talked to the minister, I congratulated her choice, we do not close ourselves to cooperation with the ministry today. But after the prime minister's declaration, we feel that the new ministry can be very hard.
