Ilie Bolojan, about the floods in Neamț and Suceava: “After the evaluations of these damages are made, we will ensure the necessary financial support”

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced on Tuesday, July 29, that checks and cleaning works are carried out in the areas affected by floods in Suceava and Neamț counties.

“It is appropriate to send a message of compassion for the families who had victims in Suceava county in the storm that took place in the floods produced as an effect of this storm. And also to assure all citizens who are affected by floods in the two counties – Neamț and Suceava – by the support of the Romanian Government.
From the first moment since this weather phenomenon appeared and until today, the ISU teams, all the forces we have available in the Moldovan area, the Ministry of Interior, together with the county services, with the local authorities, intervene ”said Ilie Bolojan, in a press conference at the Victoria Palace.
He added that, at present, the area is verified and the communication cleaning.
“In the following days, after the evaluations of these damages, as we have done, will be done, we will provide the necessary financial support, both for the restoration of the infrastructure, but also for those who had affected houses or suffered.
In these hours, Mr. Raed Arafat is on his way to the two counties, to check the intervention of our colleagues on the spot and to give all the necessary support for the effects of these floods to be diminished as soon as possible. “said Ilie Bolojan.
In Neamț, about 270 households from 3 localities (Farcaşa, Borca, Poiana Teiului) were affected, and 890 people were evacuated/devoted preventively.
During the day of Monday, July 28, as the waters withdrew, the evacuated people returned to their own homes, and the intervention forces intervened to evacuate the water from 48 households, following the actions to remove the hydrometeorological effects starting from Tuesday morning.
In Suceava, the city of Broşteni was affected with the localities and villages (Black and Dârmoxa) and 2 other localities (Ostra and Stulpicani), where more than 200 households are flooded.
In the affected localities, the intervention forces acted to save the people captured in their own houses of increased water or in other isolated areas with both ground and air means, being supported by 5 helicopters from the provision of the General Aviation Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Thus, 205 persons were saved; 120 people by air and 85 by land.
In the city of Broșteni in Suceava, 3 people (a man and two women) were caught by the flood, being extracted and declared dead.
