The Minister of Transport defends the appointment of his personal counselor in the CFR: “it was imperative.” The explanation offered

The Minister of Transport said, for Hotnews, that the appointment of his counselor in CA CFR Călatori is for a period of five months, so “the designation does not contravene the package of measures proposed by the Government to make the activity of companies”.

HotNews contacted Minister Ciprian Șerban to discuss his personal counselor, Mihai Drăgan, who arrived in the CFR Călatori, two weeks after employment.

The minister said he would answer questions, through his counselor on communication, who, in turn, sent the editorials in writing.

Thus, in the response to Hotnews, the Minister of Transport says that he gave the representative of the institution in the General Meeting of Shareholders (AGA) to vote “for” his counselor's appointment in the Board of Directors (CA) of the CFR.

“I want to point out that Mr. Mihai Drăgan has a solid legal career and I consider the presence of a professional in CA CFR Călatori,” the minister said.

The minister invokes the risk of a blockage

The Minister of Transport also said that it was “imperative to appoint a member” in CA CFR Călaturi, considering that their number was seem, “in order not to be reached in decision -making situations”.

“I was informed that at CFR Călaturi the number of members is seem, which can lead to blocking some decisions. The minister also states “the designation does not contravene the package of measures proposed by the Government to make the activity of companies more efficient”, because the mandate of his counselor is five months.

Asked on what criteria, Mihai Drăgan chose to be a personal counselor, Ciprian Șerban replied: “On the same criteria for which I approved his appointment in CFR Călaturi, they also represented the foundation of Mr. Mihai Drăgan in the team of advisers from the MTI”.

How much Mihai Drăgan wins out of the two State Functions

Hotnews wrote on Monday that Mihai Drăgan, appointed counselor of Minister Ciprian Șerban (PSD) on July 2, arrived, on July 18, a member of CFR Călatori, a function for which he will receive 7,000 lei, about the same amount he receives from the salary of counselor, as he said.

In a dialogue with Hotnews, Drăgan said he has submitted his CV alone for this role, and his appointment is temporary. He also stated that the Minister of Transport wanted to know “from the inside” with what problems the company faces.

Drăgan said he submitted his CV to become a member of CFR Călaturi on his own initiative and that he no longer remembers if he did so before or after becoming the personal counselor of Minister Ciprian Șerban.
