Russian President Vladimir Putin asked for the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Monday, in a telephone conversation, to maintain the territorial integrity of Syria, a week after the devastating violence in the south of the country, who led to Israeli bombardments, AFP reports.

Putin “especially emphasized the importance of supporting the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, as well as to strengthen its internal political stability,” Kremlin said in a statement.

The two leaders also discussed the recent confrontation between Israel and Iran, a little declaring that he is “ready to contribute in any way to finding negotiated solutions in relation to the Iranian nuclear program.”

Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Putin “reaffirmed its unchanged position in favor of an exclusively peaceful resolution of problems and conflicts in the region,” according to the Kremlin.

Blood violence between the Druzi and Bedouin broke out in mid -July in the Syrian province of Suwayda, before the struggles extend with the intervention of the government forces and tribal fighters.

Stating that it protects the minority Druza, Israel bombed the Presidential Palace and the Syrian army of Damascus.

Russia maintains two military bases in Syria, Tartus and Hmeimim, in the northwest of the country, despite the removal of its protected power, former President Bashar al-Assad.

Moscow is also a major partner of Iran, where Israel has attacked key nuclear and military sites in mid -June, triggering a 12 -day war.
