“Pigs, you are not welcome here” “Russia's flag was burned in Georgia, during the World Fencing Championship

During the day of Sunday, July 27, protests were held in front of the Olympic Sports Palace in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Hundreds of people broke out due to the participation of the national team of fencing Russia in the World Championship and even burned a Russian flag.

The World Fencing Championship takes place for the first time in Georgia, July 23 – July 30.

Georgians protested against the participation of the Russian national team in the World Fencing Championship: “Pigs, you are not welcome here”

In front of the Tbilisi Olympic Sports Palace gathered hundreds of people who displayed messages against Russia's participation in the World Fencing Championship, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

  • “They are fighting in Tbilisi and killing in Ukraine”

  • “Sport is above politics? Tell this to those killed in the war.”

  • Russian pigs, you are not welcome here! Today are fireworks, tomorrow will be racquet rates

  • “The white flag of Russia belongs to the battlefield, not the fencing track”

Georgians protested after several “neutral” athletes from Russia and Belarus, were admitted to the final tournament.

These include several members of the combat forces in Russia, including: Sofia Velikaia (Major in the Russian army), Iana Egorian (Lieutenant and Laureate of the medals of the Ministry of Defense in Russia to strengthen military cooperation), or Olga Nikitina (non -commissioned officer in the Russian army).

And representatives of Ukraine, the country that is in major conflict with Russia, participate in the World Fencing Championship. Vlada Kharkova won her first gold medal at the World Championship, after triumphing in the individual female sample.

Also, Nikita Koshman reached the semifinals in the male sword, and Alina Komashchuk reached the semifinals of the female sword.
