Chancellery of the President: The National Assembly will take place as planned
Małgorzata Paprocka in the program “Rymanowski Breakfast” in Polsat News announced that on Friday, at the behest of the president, she had a conversation with Marshal Hołownia. As she said, three key conclusions resulted from the conversation.
First of all, the marshal assured that the National Assembly would take place on August 6, according to the previous plan, and President-Elek Karol Nawrocki would take an oath. Secondly, Paprocka referred to the Saturday statement of Hołownia, in which he emphasized that all suggestions regarding the delay in swearing in were consistently rejected by him. Thirdly, the meeting of President Duda with Marshal Hołownia was announced, which is to take place at the beginning of August.
Presidential and political elections of tensions
Karol Nawrocki, a candidate supported by PiS, won the second round of presidential elections on June 1, winning 50.89 percent. votes and defeating Rafał Trzaskowski from KO, who obtained 49.11 percent. The election result was caused by political tensions, and the subject of swearing in the new president became the subject of public debate.
Marshal Hołownia assured that there are no legal or factual grounds to delay the National Assembly or undermine the election result. The assembly, during which Karol Nawrocki takes an oath, will take place on August 6 in the Sejm Sejm Hall.
