The World Health Organization has warned that the threat of a large, global epidemic of the Chikungunya virus is real and requires immediate preventive measures. During the briefing in Geneva, WHO representatives emphasized that today they were observing exactly the same early signals that preceded the great wave of incidence from two decades ago. The goal is to avoid the repetition of that scenario.
