US-EU agreement in the hands of Donald Trump. “50-50, maybe less”

Talking to journalists before going to Scotland, Trump said that the chances of entering into a commercial agreement that reduces the level of customs duties for EU products was “50-50, maybe less”, although he stated that the EU “very” wants it.
He added, however, that until recently he assessed the chances of concluding a contract with Japan at 25 percent, and yet it happened.
– They [Japończycy] They were still coming back with new proposals and we concluded a contract. This agreement is based on the fact that Japan will spend $ 550 billion and also pay duties. But the most important part of the contract with Japan – and maybe we can achieve it with the EU, or maybe not – is that we have the right to trade – they completely opened Japan for the United States – said the American president.
“200 countries” covered by duties
Trump assessed that a possible agreement with the EU will be one of the last ones, because in most cases the US will simply inform the countries about what customs goods will be covered by their countries. He announced that next week he would start sending letters with such information to “200 countries”.
Commercial matters are also intended to apply to Scotland, where he will visit, among others your golf courses. During his stay, Trump is to discuss with the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer details of the concluded framework agreement.
The US President emphasized that the state derives huge budget revenues from elevated duties and stated that it is considering the allocation of this money to send checks for the least earners. Such a move would, however, require the Congress Act.
Trump also referred to his Thursday meeting with the head of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell, describing the conversation as “very good”. The president revealed that the president of the Central Bank told him that the economy was doing well, which Trump considered a signal that Powell intends to reduce interest rates, to which Trump had urged him for a long time. He also assessed that Powell – whom he recently called “moron” and fool – is a “good man”.
Referring to the dollar's weakening dollar, Trump said that he would never declare that he did not want a strong currency, but immediately then added that the only benefit of a strong dollar is to limit inflation. He also pointed out that China has long underestimated the exchange rate of their currency, which helps them in trading.
– I am a person who likes a strong dollar, but a weak dollar allows you to earn more money from damn – said the American president.
