President Nicușor Dan posted on Facebook a message to support the proposal to reorganize Romsilva, a message that is accompanied by two photos from a meeting that the head of state had with the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu.

“Yesterday I had a meeting with the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, in which we discussed the proposal to reorganize Romsilva, an approach that I support. In the election campaign we talked about the need for reform in an institution that, unfortunately, was associated too often with non-demerity privileges as 100,000 euros,” Nicușor wrote.

At the same time, the president sent a message to support the Government as a whole regarding the reduction of functions or the stop of non -deity benefits for holders in the state administration.

“I welcome the Government's decision to act in this direction – to eliminate decorative functions and to put an end to excessive benefits,” said the head of state.

Returning to the subject of Romsilva, the president states that environmental protection is a priority for him and that he will support government steps in this direction.

“The proposed reform aims to streamline the activity of Romsilva, to reduce the bureaucracy and to strengthen the forest protection – a necessary step towards a responsible and sustainable management of the forest fund. The protection of the environment is a priority for me, and in this effort I will remain an active partner of the Government. to the president.

Romsilva remains with only 12 forest directions

The Ministry of the Environment took the draft government decision on Thursday, which provides for the reduction of almost 70% of the number of forest departments, from 41 directions to only 12 forest directions. These directions will be run by a single director, as opposed to the current situation in which we meet between 2 and 4 directors, measures that will bring economies of 19 million lei.

“Today there are 41 forest directions, for each county. The proposal of HG concerns 12 forest directions at the country level, which means a decrease of almost 70% of their number, a decrease necessary to make the activity of Romsilva. As regards the number of directors, the regional forest directions will have a director, so that the current number of the Romanian of 19 million lei for the basic activity, that of the administration of forests, ”said Diana Buzoianu, Minister of the Environment on Thursday.

The control body will check the 100,000 euro bonus of the former head of the Arad Forestry Directorate

“Yesterday I sent the minister's control body to the Arad Forestry Directorate, where Mr. Gypsy director retired on 100,000 euros and resulted back, to see if the legislation was respected. He benefited from a huge retirement bonus and we want to see if everything was done according to the legislation,” she said.

She announced that currently the retirement bonuses are blocked by the Government Ordinance.

“Today, the retirement bonuses are blocked by the government ordinance and as I will be there they will certainly not be unlocked. But we are thinking of giving greater solutions to uniform the employees so that there are no more frustrations, that people who lead the hardship have the smallest salary benefits,” said the Minister of the Environment.

In this regard, Diana Buzoianu said that in the HG project on the Romsilva reform is provided for the need to adopt a salary and employment methodology of Romsilva within 30 or 60 days from the adoption of the current Government Decision.

The director who received a retirement bonus of 100,000 euros has sued and requests compensation from Romsilva

Teodor Ţigan, the former head of the Arad Forestry Directorate and former interim general manager of Romsilva during the 2020-2022 period, sued the National Forest Directorate as the individual employment contract was signed after he had already retired and received a bonus of 100,000 euros when withdrawing from the activity, according to the collective labor contract, writes Rise Project.

Gypsy retired in February 2023 and then benefited from a bonus of almost 100,000 gross euros. After retirement, he re -entered the position of director at the Silvic Directorate (DS) Arad, so that in 2023 he received both 74,000 gross pension, as well as 825,000 gross lei, the value of the wages from Romsilva.
