Hulk Hogan, a legendary professional wrestling and actor fighter, died at the age of 71, reports NBC News, The Hollywood Reporter and TMZ.
His manager, Chris Volo, told NBC Los Angeles that he died at his home in Clearwater, Florida, surrounded by family.
Previously, the US press reported that ambulances were seen in front of its property.
The doctors were called to his home in Clearwater, Florida, in the early hours of Thursday morning, the respondents stating that they intervene in the case of a “cardiac arrest”.
The police officers said that the authorities responded to the call at 9:51 am, and Hogan was cared for by Clearwater Fire & Rescue before being transported to a nearby hospital.
He was declared dead at the hospital. The official cause of death has not yet been announced.
Just a few weeks ago, Hogan's wife, Sky, denied rumors that he was in a coma, saying that his heart was “strong” while recovering after operations.
Ulk Hogan, by his real name Terry Gene Bollea, is probably the most iconic star in the five -decade history of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).
Its carisma and theatrical talent in the ring were recognized for the contribution to the transformation of professional wrestling into an entertainment sport for the whole family.
He was the main attraction of the first Wrestlemania edition in 1985 and was a constant presence for years during the emblematic event, facing all known fighters, from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage and even the company president, Vince McMahon.
Hulk Hogan won six WWE championships and was introduced to WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone.
But he managed to pass beyond his base of fans known as “Hulkamania” and become a celebrity outside the world of Wrestling, appearing in numerous films and television shows, including in a reality show about his life, broadcast on VH1 and entitled “Hogan Knows Best”.
The show “Hogan Knows Best” followed the life of his ex-wife, Linda, and his two children, Brooke and Nick.
The show was canceled in 2007, after his son was severely injured in a car accident in Clearwater, Florida, and was accused of imprudent driving.
Hulk Hogan appeared in the third part of the famous “Rocky” movie series in 1982, where he played the role of the main character, played by Sylvester Stallone, in a fight between a Wrestler and a boxer.
