Foreign Minister Oana Tiuiu announced at Euronews that Romania will adopt a normative act to incriminate companies and people trying to bypass the sanctions imposed on Russia at European level, the document to be sent to the official circuit.
“We have adopted a new package of sanctions towards Russia, the 18 sanctions package, which is adopted at the European Union level and is very important including the part of the capping of the barrel and very, very important this decision of the European Union, common of the member countries, to go with the sanctions package and to the intermediaries through which certain companies from the Russian federation were trying to go.” Oana Ţoiu, quoted by News.ro.
The Foreign Minister announces that a normative act will be adopted that incriminates companies and persons trying to bypass the sanctions: “We will go forward with a legislative proposal that practically incriminates the sanctions. It is part of Romania's effort to adopt a directive that establishes this. Interested, observations and at this moment enter the official circuit ”.
Asked what exactly this normative act means, Oana Ţoiu explained: “On the list of prohibitions, both in previous packages and in this new sanctions package, package 18, are both people who are on the list of interdicts and companies. Over time there have been attempts of these entities to bypass the sanctions system through the intermediaries. he will not be able to happen. “
Oana Ţoiu explained concretely that “we are talking about sanctions that go to the criminal order and I am the sanction on each type of gesture of eluding the sanctions”.
