The third round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. The meeting was short

Before starting negotiations, the bosses of the delegation of Ukraine and Russia, Rustów and Vladimir Miedinski, talked to each other. The meeting took place at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul.
– We would like to lead to this bloody war as soon as possible. The most important goal is to suspend the weapons, which will pave the way to the room – said Fidan, opening the meeting he presided over.
Russia and Ukraine completed peace talks in Istanbul after about 34 minutes – said the TASS agency at 20:30 Polish time.
According to the Ukrainian channel 24, which quotes Rustam's statement, the delegation of Ukraine offered the Russians a meeting of leaders with the participation of Turkish President Recep Erdogan and US President Donald Trump before the end of August. At the same time, the Ukrainian side declared his readiness to suspend fire, including cessation of attacks on critical and civil infrastructure.
In addition, the parties were to discuss the next stages of the exchange of prisoners of war and this time also civilians. The Russians were to agree to the return of people in captivity for over 3 years, including seriously wounded. Channel 24 states that we are talking about replacing over 1,200 people.
Ukraine is counting on the “constructive position” of Russia
– We hope that during conversations in Istanbul, Russia will adopt a “constructive position”, we want to discuss the exchange of prisoners, repatriation of deported Ukrainian children and the opportunity to organize a meeting of leaders – previously reported by the AFP agency a source in the Ukrainian delegation.
“Everything will depend on Russia's tendency to give up its ultimats and adopting a constructive position,” the source added.
War of Russia with Ukraine. The road to the room is still far away
This year there were two rounds of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia – both in Istanbul, May 16 and June 2. The conversations led to a series of exchanges of prisoners of war and the return of the bodies of fallen soldiers. Both sides also exchanged memorands regarding the agreement on the suspension of weapons, but besides, no steps were taken towards the room. Kyiv and Moscow still have a different opinion on the conditions of possible truce.
