It happens that the tree is strewn with fruits. The pears are large beautiful, but at the same time absolutely tasteless. The pulp is watery, there are no sweets, the aroma is weak. Many blame the variety or moody weather, but the reason is often completely different. It's all about a deficiency of one important trace element.
To make the pear truly tasty, she needs boron. This trace element helps sugar move from leaves to fruits. When it is not enough, fruits do not gain the desired sweetness and even with a beautiful appearance remain tasteless.
When to make a boron
The best time for processing is the middle of summer. In July, fruits are actively poured, nutrients are accumulated. It is during this period that Bor is especially effective. It not only increases sweetness, and also improves the structure of the pulp, makes the taste brighter. Such fruits are even stored longer.
How to feed a tree correctly
For foliar top dressing, ordinary boric acid in powder is suitable. But the exact dosage is important, since excess can burn foliage.
The solution is prepared as follows:
- 5–7 g of boric acid is first diluted in hot water (approximately in a glass);
- Then add the resulting concentrate in 10 liters of warm water.
Spraying is carried out throughout the crown, including the lower side of the leaves. It is better to work in cloudy weather or in the morning and evening to avoid sunburn.
One processing is enough
It is not worth repeating, as the Boron accumulates, and its excess can damage the tree. One procedure per season is enough to improve the taste of fruits.
After 10-14 days, pears become noticeably sweeter, juicier and more aromatic. They are not only tastier, but also stored longer. This simple way without chemistry is able to turn ordinary fruits into a real dessert.
