“In package 3, at the latest, we will have to have measures regarding the privileges of retirement, the privileges of the activity during work in several fields, and in justice, and in May, in the interior, the gendarmerie, the army, where the support services, which simply do the same as in a town hall, of the human resources, of the human resources Special, of the army, of the military, must approach the conditions of retirement in the other fields, because otherwise, they will be considered and are considered privileges. said Deputy Prime Minister on Tuesday, July 22, in an interview with RFI.

He stressed that one of the first measures will be the increase of the retirement age for the beneficiaries of special pensions, especially for those categories that are not involved in operative activities.

“Absolute. And as soon as possible, immediately, not in a horizon of 20 and something years or 15 years or I do not know how old. So that is not a serious reform,” the bin pointed out.

Another important aspect of the reform will be to rethink the way of calculating the special pensions, to eliminate the situations in which the pension exceeds the salary in activity: “Yes, yes, in the sense not to be the pension higher than the salary, which is an aberration”, he said.

Tanczos Barna explained that the reform was not included in the second package of fiscal measures for lack of time for the legislative training, but gave assurances that it will be almost certain in the third package.

Barna: “If there is no money, there is no money.” Call to compromise in negotiations with unions

The Deputy Prime Minister also sent a message to the unions in the public sector, in the context of intensifying protests and threats with strike, saying that dialogue and compromise are the only viable solutions in a difficult budget context.

“I am convinced that, together with the unions in each field, we will have the capacity, the wisdom, to reach an acceptable compromise for everyone. And they have to understand – if there is no money, there is no money,” said the Deputy Prime Minister at RFI.

Barna said that it is essential for the protesters to achieve the state budgetary limits and to be involved in identifying sustainable solutions, not just in claims.

“I told my colleagues for six months, many times, that neither the law, nor the need, nor the desire take place. I can have a legal provision, if there are not enough funds at the Ministry of Finance, there is no money. Those who organize the strikes must also be organized that when we arrived at the bottom of the bag, we must find it, he added.

Asked if the government could make concessions to the trade union pressures, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the commitment to continue the reforms. “We will go to the end with the reforms. Take a step in the back, like tango, if you take a step forward and take two steps in the back, it is bad. If you took ten steps forward and take a step back, it is fine.”
