The deputy prime minister in the Bolojan government said on Tuesday that the special pensions reform will aim to increase both the retirement age and the change in the calculation for such pensions, and they will be found in the third package of fiscal measures, which would be ready at the end of July.

“In the second package the elements of local public administration come, from the health system, and in the third package, at the latest, we will have to have the elements that concern the retirement privileges, the duration of the activity during the work, in several fields: and in court, in May, in the interior, the police, the gendarmerie Activities that are not related to interventions of the gendarmes, special forces, army, military, must approach the conditions of retirement in the other fields, because otherwise they will be considered and are considered privileges ”, declared Tanczos Barna at RFI.

Asked if this reform will be included in the increase of the retirement age, the Deputy Prime Minister replied: “Absolutely and as soon as possible, not in a horizon of 20 and some years or 15 years. That is not a serious reform.”

He continued by saying that he understands why special pensions are needed when it comes to areas where, during the activity, there are many restrictions.

“I can agree with those who say that special pensions are needed because in Europe, in all civilized countries, where during the activity in the respective field you have many restrictions, there you have to compensate for this. Those in justice, those in the Public Ministry have many restrictions, can not do something else, they have to focus on the respective activity, In Brussels, and those in justice, police, army from all other countries.

Also, the Deputy Prime Minister also spoke about the fact that in the reform of the special pensions will be rethought and how they are calculated, so that it is not higher than the salary: “Yes, in the sense that the pension is not higher than the salary. It is an aberration.”

Regarding possible protests and blockages from those targeted by the reform, Tanczos Barna says that “a correct and rational compromise will be found, through dialogue”.
