The next round of peace conversations can take place this week. Istanbul is to be the host of the meeting again


The anonymous source informed the Russian state information agency TASS that “you talk about the meeting at the end of the week, and the specific date is being determined”. The sources had previously informed the TASS agency that Conversations will probably take place in Istanbulwhere the first two rounds of peace negotiations took place.
Earlier, the Turkish edition of The Independent referred to diplomatic sources, according to which Russian and Ukrainian delegates may meet in Istanbul on Thursday or Friday, although the exact place of the meeting has not yet been established. According to these reports, the third round of conversations is to be closed to the press.
The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski announced on Saturday that Ukraine proposed a new round of peace conversations with Moscow in the coming week. He emphasized that he was Ready for a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“To really provide a room, a durable room, a meeting at the level of leaders is needed,” said Zelnski in an evening speech. “Ukraine is ready for such a meeting,” he declared.
– Dialogue with the Russian side regarding the exchange of prisoners is ongoing – we continue the implementation of the agreements achieved during the previous meeting in Istanbul – said Zelanski. – Our team is currently working on another exchange – he added.
This year, Russia and Ukraine have carried out two rounds of direct peace conversations, The first May 16, and the second on June 2. Both rounds took place in Istanbul.
Although during the talks, both fighting parties agreed to replace the prisoners, so far a breakthrough has not been reached on the conclusion of a broad agreement on the suspension of weapons.
Reports about the possible third round of peace negotiations appeared a week after US President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to Putin, demanding from the Kremlin leader the end of the war with Ukraine within 50 days under the threat of a new round of sanctions.
