The Zaporian Atomic Power Plant has lost its power. “For the ninth time since the beginning of the war”

The power plant lost all the power generated outside the facility on Friday, at 17.37, for the ninth time from the beginning of the war of Russia against Ukraine and for the first time since the end of 2023 – says Maea's message on the X.
The gym now uses its own emergency generators; All its six reactors are turned off, but electricity is still needed to cool the system – the agency explains.
The head of the Ukrainian Energy Ministry Herman Hałuszczenko announced that Russian attacks destroyed lines connecting the power plant with the energy network.
Maea said that the power supply was restored after 3.5 hours. Earlier, the agency informed on the website X that the distinctive power plant occupied by Russia lost all external power supply, necessary for cooling fuel in reactors. However, she added in a statement that “nuclear safety in Ukraine remains very uncertain.”
Zaporoska Atomic Power Plant
The Zaporian Nuclear Power Plant, the largest nuclear gym in Europe, has been occupied since the beginning of March 2022. Aggressor soldiers are stationed in its area, there are also employees of the Russian state -owned Rosatom. The Russians have repeatedly fired the power plant area, thus creating – in the opinion of the authorities in Kiev – a radiation threat with difficult to predict consequences.
Until February 2022, i.e. the beginning of the Kremlin invasion of Ukraine, the power plant in Enerhodar was connected to the four main energy lines with a voltage of 750 kilovolts. Six spare lines with a voltage of 330 kilovolts remained at the management of the object.
