Camp Mystic is a Christian camp for girls in Hunt, Kerr, Texas, through which a flood wave passed on Friday. The camp was near the Guadalupe River, which rapidly appeared from the banks due to heavy rainfall. About 750 people took part in it, some of them were evacuated by helicopters.
A tragic flood balance in Texas
On Saturday, the authorities in Texas informed that the number of deadly victims of the flood increased to 27. Among them are children who were at Camp Mystic.
The Camp Mystic camp was founded almost a hundred years ago. With the exception of the period of World War II, it took place every summer from 1926. Participants could learn from it, among others archery, canoeing or horse riding.
