About 30 thousand Soldiers from North Korea are to support Russia in the war with Ukraine – the portal of the American CNN television portal, citing Ukrainian officials and satellite photos revealing preparations for the acceptance of new soldiers.

New forces from North Korea are to reach Russia in the coming months and join the soldiers who have already supported the Russian troops in the Kurski region in November 2024. According to Western services, approx. 4,000 with 11 thousand North Korea soldiers fell in the fight against Ukrainian army, which have been operating in the West of Russia since August last year.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin confirmed the participation of North Korean troops in the fighting in the Kurski region only in April. So far, the participation of Koreans from the North has not been confirmed in battles on the territory of Ukraine.

According to CNN, in published satellite photos you can see a ship anchored in the Port of Danube in the Russian seaside country in the Far East, where Koreans from the North had already arrived.

“Satellite photos show the Russian unit that came to the Danube in May, and increased activity at the (North Korean) Sunan airport in May and June,” said the British Think Tank Open Source Center analyst, Joe Byrne. The expert noticed that these are places that were used to transport North Korea soldiers.

The base, where North Korean soldiers are to be stationed, is located about 10 km from Kursk – the CNN and Open Source Center have determined by analyzing the recording made available by the Russian media.

Some analysts suppose that further forces from North Korea may support the expected offensive of the Russian troops. On Friday, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrski announced that Russia has concentrated the army in the vicinity of Pokrowsk in the Donetsk region in the east of Ukraine, where fierce fights have been taking place for many months. The grouping of Russian troops is to have about 110,000 soldiers.

Pyongyang supports Moscow not only with soldiers, but also by providing weapons and ammunition of various caliber. The Russians have recently fired at least 80 North Korean ballistic missiles to Ukraine. (PAP)
